Peddle and Wheelzy are the two names that come up most when the car you are selling is old, damaged or not running. Both give an instant online offer, both collect the car for free, and both hand you the money at the curb. The difference is what happens in the minute between the truck arriving and the payment changing hands. Everything below comes from each company's own pages as we verified them, Peddle on 2026-10-08 and Wheelzy on 2026-10-16.

Where they match: free quote, free truck, paid at the curb
Neither charges you at any stage. Peddle's wording is 'no fees, hidden charges, or deductions' and Wheelzy's is 'Wheelzy never charges any fees', and both include the collection, which Peddle calls free pickup at your location and Wheelzy calls free towing. Both pay at the hand-over itself: Peddle hands over a check at collection, and Wheelzy's driver hand-delivers the payment on arrival. On the three things junk-car sellers ask first, is the quote free, is the tow free and do I get paid when the car leaves, the two sites give the same answer. Wheelzy adds one extra: it takes offers by phone as well as on the web, where Peddle's offer comes from the online form.
The price at pickup: the one real difference
Here the two part ways. Wheelzy's FAQ is as firm as any language in our dataset: 'The price we offer is the price we pay ... your offer stays firm—no last-minute haggling or bait-and-switch.' The number you accepted online is the number on the payment the driver hands you. Peddle describes its offer as no-haggle too, but its payment step is worded differently: the check is handed over only after the pickup partner inspects the car at collection. Peddle does not say the price will change. It says an inspection sits between the quote and the check, which Wheelzy's wording does not have. If your online description was accurate, the outcome may well be the same. If you are unsure how to describe the damage, Wheelzy's firm-price promise removes the cost of getting it wrong.
The clock, the map and the title
Peddle gives you the clearer calendar. An accepted offer stays valid 7 days before it auto-expires, so you can accept today and arrange to be home for the truck inside the week. Wheelzy's page states no offer duration, so treat its quote as something to act on rather than hold. Coverage runs the other way. Wheelzy states all 50 states, where Peddle's page references multiple city markets and makes no explicit nationwide claim, so run Peddle's form for your location before counting on it. On paperwork, Wheelzy says selling without a title is possible 'in many states', evaluated case-by-case. Peddle's page, as we verified it, does not address the no-title case, so ask before you book if your title is missing. Peddle's clear extra is the reputation shown on the page itself: a 4.7-star Trustpilot rating from 205,946 reviews.
If neither fits
Two other buyers in our dataset sit in the same segment and are worth a quote alongside. Cash Auto Salvage covers all 50 states plus DC, states 'the number you see in the offer is what we pay' with no renegotiation at pickup, and buys with or without a title, though 'title requirements vary by state'. CarBrain specialises in totaled, non-running and collision-damaged cars with free towing, and says sellers are on average paid and picked up 24-48 hours after accepting, although its instant offer covers only some vehicles and its offer validity period is not stated.
Which one to start with
- You want the online number to be the number you are paid, with no inspection step in between: Wheelzy, whose FAQ states the offer stays firm with no last-minute haggling.
- You need a few days to arrange the hand-over: Peddle, whose accepted offer holds for 7 days before it auto-expires.
- You are outside a major city: Wheelzy states all 50 states; confirm your location with Peddle first.
- Your title is missing: Wheelzy says it is possible in many states, case by case; Peddle's page does not address it.
- You would rather call than fill in a form: Wheelzy takes offers by phone.
- You want both numbers: get Peddle's first, since it holds for a week, then Wheelzy's, and accept the higher one.
