Best rFactor 2 telemetry and coaching apps: every tool that lists rF2, and what each costs

Five sim racing tools name rFactor 2: two free voice race engineers, one lap analyzer, an overlay suite and a dashboard. All five are free to start.

Five of the twenty sim racing tools we track name rFactor 2 on their own pages: two voice race engineers, one lap analyzer, an overlay suite and a second-screen dashboard. All five cost nothing to start. Two things set rF2 apart: both tools that talk to you during the lap list it, and none of the paid AI lap-analysis platforms do. One more tool lists 'rFactor' without a number, and that gets its own section below.

ToolWhat it doesPrice (as stated)
TakeP1Live voice coaching, spotter, brake points, telemetry HUDFree: no trial, no tiers, no card
Crew ChiefVoice race engineer and spotter, open sourceFree download; donations accepted
PopometerLap comparison against pro data packsFree lap recording; Ultimate price not shown
RaceLabOverlay suite with auto-adjusting layoutsBasic free forever; Pro €4.90/mo or €49.90/yr
RS Dash ASRSecond-screen telemetry dashboardFree base app; in-app subscriptions

Two voices during the lap, both free

TakeP1 and Crew Chief both name rFactor 2 in full, and both are free. TakeP1 is an AI race engineer: live corner-by-corner voice coaching plus a spotter, brake points, a telemetry HUD and session reports, all free with no trial, no tiers and no card. It runs on Windows 10 and 11 PCs only, and the installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen warns on install. Disclosure: TakeP1 is operated by the team behind PickMerit. Crew Chief is a free, MIT-licensed open-source voice race engineer and spotter for Windows, and donations are accepted. It lists rFactor and rFactor 2 separately, so the game is unambiguous. Its downloads and docs live on a vBulletin forum behind Cloudflare bot protection, and its Android companion app is marked end-of-life.

Analysis after the lap: Popometer stands alone

Popometer is the only lap-analysis tool in our data that names rFactor 2. It records laps for free and compares them against professional esports drivers' data packs, highlighting where you lose time. Comparing against the pros means activating those packs: the Ultimate Subscription covers 15 monthly activations, and its price is not shown on the page. Its coaching feature is listed as coming soon. The paid AI analysis platforms are absent. Track Titan lists seven sims, Coach Dave Delta lists seven, and Trophi.ai lists iRacing, ACC, Le Mans Ultimate, three F1 titles and Rocket League. None of them names rFactor 2.

Overlays and a second screen: RaceLab and RS Dash ASR

RaceLab is overlays, not coaching: auto-adjusting layouts and a community layout library. Basic is free forever, Pro is €4.90 a month or €49.90 a year, and a Lifetime license is €399 once. Its lap-time analysis, standings and performance-trends module is labeled 'Exclusive to iRacing' on the site, so for rFactor 2 expect the overlays and not that module. RS Dash ASR puts a telemetry dashboard on iOS, Android or Windows, with in-app subscriptions for Advanced Analysis and a custom dashboard designer. Advanced Analysis requires a full-HD-or-better tablet or desktop screen. Its site says AC, ACC, Automobilista 2 and iRacing need the Windows PC version on the game PC; our data does not record whether rFactor 2 has the same requirement.

One tool that says rFactor, without the 2

Z1 Dashboard lists 'rFactor' in what we verified, with no number attached. We do not read that as rFactor 2 support, and we do not read it as the absence of it either, so check the site before relying on it. Z1 has no perpetual free tier, only a demo. Standard runs $3.99 to $4.99 a month, and the AI instructor and track-walk mode arrive with the Track tier at $7.99 to $8.99 a month. On Standard, the AI instructor is restricted to a single car and track combo.

  • Track Titan, Coach Dave Delta and Trophi.ai: rFactor 2 is not among the sims any of them lists.
  • TrackPro: its site no longer names which sims are supported.
  • VRS, Garage 61 and iSpeed: iRacing is the only sim each one lists.
  • SimHub and SIM Dashboard: each claims 100+ games, but our data does not record whether rFactor 2 is among them.
  • DashPanel: covers 40+ titles, and the ones our data names do not include rFactor 2.
  • Race Dash for Sim Games, Sim Racing Telemetry and Lovely Dashboard: none names rFactor 2 in our data.
  • MoTeC i2 Pro: its site makes zero mention of sim racing.
The practical read: an rFactor 2 driver can run a live voice engineer, a lap comparison tool, overlays and a second-screen dashboard without paying anything. The gap is paid AI lap analysis, which none of the three platforms selling it lists for rF2. The twelve tools above did not name the game in what we verified, which is not the same as not working with it. Every statement here comes from each tool's own pages on the verification date shown on its card. Full cards for all 20 tools: Best Sim Racing Coaching & Telemetry Tools.
