Best RaceRoom telemetry and coaching apps: every tool that lists RaceRoom, and what each costs

Five sim racing tools name RaceRoom: two free voice engineers, a dashboard with an AI instructor, overlays and a second-screen app. Prices from each site.

Five of the twenty sim racing tools we track name RaceRoom on their own pages: two voice race engineers, a dashboard suite with an in-sim AI instructor, an overlay suite and a second-screen telemetry app. Four of the five cost nothing to start. What RaceRoom does not get is lap analysis against pro reference data: none of the platforms selling it lists the game.

ToolWhat it doesPrice (as stated)
TakeP1Live voice coaching, spotter, brake points, telemetry HUDFree: no trial, no tiers, no card
Crew ChiefVoice race engineer and spotter, open sourceFree download; donations accepted
Z1 DashboardDashboard, track map, AI instructor, telemetry analysisStandard $3.99 to $4.99/mo; Track $7.99 to $8.99/mo; demo only, no free tier
RaceLabOverlay suite with auto-adjusting layoutsBasic free forever; Pro €4.90/mo or €49.90/yr; Lifetime €399
RS Dash ASRSecond-screen telemetry dashboardFree base app; in-app subscriptions

Two free voices on the radio

TakeP1 and Crew Chief both list RaceRoom, and both are free. TakeP1 is an AI race engineer that coaches corner by corner while you drive, with a spotter, brake points, a telemetry HUD and session reports, all free with no trial, no tiers and no card. It runs on Windows 10 and 11 PCs only, and because the installer is not yet code-signed, Windows SmartScreen warns on install. Disclosure: TakeP1 is operated by the team behind PickMerit. Crew Chief is a free, MIT-licensed open-source voice race engineer and spotter for Windows, and donations are accepted. Its downloads and documentation live on a vBulletin forum behind Cloudflare bot protection, and its Android companion app is marked end-of-life on the official forum.

The only paid coaching that names RaceRoom: Z1 Dashboard

Z1 Dashboard is the one tool in our data that both lists RaceRoom and sells an in-sim AI driving instructor. The instructor, with its track-walk mode and live telemetry comparison, arrives with the Track tier at $7.99 to $8.99 a month. The Standard tier at $3.99 to $4.99 a month includes the dashboard, track map and virtual engineer, but restricts the AI instructor to a single car and track combo. Pro, at $17.99 to $19.99 a month, is the commercial-use tier. There is no perpetual free tier, only a demo, so Z1 is the one RaceRoom tool here you cannot run indefinitely without paying.

Overlays and a second screen: RaceLab and RS Dash ASR

RaceLab is overlays, not coaching: intelligent layouts that adjust to the car or series you race, plus a community layout library. Basic is free forever, Pro is €4.90 a month or €49.90 a year, a Lifetime license is €399 once, and a Commercial seat is €299 a year. The catch for a RaceRoom driver is that the lap-time analysis, standings and performance-trends module is labeled 'Exclusive to iRacing' on the site, so expect the overlays and not that module. RS Dash ASR puts a telemetry dashboard on iOS, Android or Windows. The base app is free, and Advanced Analysis plus the custom dashboard designer are in-app subscriptions. Advanced Analysis compares throttle, brake, steering, gear, RPM, speed and g-forces across laps, and it requires a full-HD-or-better tablet or desktop screen. The site says AC, ACC, Automobilista 2 and iRacing need the Windows PC version installed on the game PC; our data does not record whether RaceRoom has the same requirement.

What RaceRoom does not get: pro reference laps

Every tool that compares your laps against professional data packs skips RaceRoom. Popometer lists six sims, Track Titan seven, Coach Dave Delta seven, and Trophi.ai lists iRacing, ACC, Le Mans Ultimate, three F1 titles and Rocket League. RaceRoom appears on none of those lists, and VRS, Garage 61 and iSpeed name iRacing as the only sim. If pro reference laps are the feature you are buying, none of these platforms sells them for RaceRoom today.

  • Trophi.ai, Track Titan, Coach Dave Delta and Popometer: RaceRoom is not among the sims any of them lists.
  • TrackPro: its site no longer names which sims are supported.
  • VRS, Garage 61 and iSpeed: iRacing is the only sim each one lists.
  • SimHub and SIM Dashboard: each claims 100+ games, but our data does not record whether RaceRoom is among them.
  • DashPanel: covers 40+ titles, and the ones our data names do not include RaceRoom.
  • Race Dash for Sim Games, Sim Racing Telemetry and Lovely Dashboard: none names RaceRoom in our data.
  • MoTeC i2 Pro: its site makes zero mention of sim racing.
The practical read: a RaceRoom driver can run a live voice engineer, a spotter, overlays and a second-screen dashboard for free, and can add an in-sim AI instructor for under $9 a month through Z1. The missing piece is comparison against pro data, which none of the platforms selling it lists for RaceRoom. The fifteen tools above did not name the game in what we verified, which is not the same as not working with it. Every statement here comes from each tool's own pages on the verification date shown on its card. Full cards for all 20 tools: Best Sim Racing Coaching & Telemetry Tools.
